After completing the course, the doctoral student student should independently be able to:
Knowledge and understanding
- account for knowledge and experience of the chosen research environment
- reflect on and explain different research competences and skills of research competences and skills in relation to their own research area
Skills and abilities
- independently carry out research activities with scientific rigour and creativity in an international research environment
- collaborate in an international research context
- analyse, reflect on and evaluate other research perspectives in relation to their own research project
Judgement and approach
- reflect on their own learning and its relation to their own research area and future research work
- analyse, critically reflect on and evaluate other research perspectives in relation to their own research project
Entry requirements
Admitted to doctoral studies in the subjects of work-integrated learning or production technology, or equivalent.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Individual written logbook with reflection on and evaluation of one's own learning and knowledge as well as further needs for knowledge and learning are discussed
Individual written assignment with reflection on and evaluation of international aspects and collaborations in relation to own research work
Course contents
The course gives the doctoral student the opportunity to follow and collaborate with research projects in international research environments and thereby gain knowledge and practical experience of international research and collaboration.
By testing and developing their research work in a real international context and context, the doctoral student can develop new knowledge, skills and competences.
Within the framework of the course, the doctoral student carries out relevant research tasks with supervision from senior researchers and doctoral colleagues.
The pedagogical focus of the course is on learning and reflection of research perspectives and methods through practical research collaboration.

Course language: The teaching is conducted in English.
International research internships are done in consultation with supervisors and shall be linked to the thesis work.
