Hållbarhet - design och produktion av elfordon, 7,5 Högskolepoäng
Established: 2024-02-01
Established by: Department of Engineering Science
Applies from: V24
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student must be able to:
Knowledge and understanding
- account for how life cycle assessment and life cycle inventory are relevant for electric vehicles.
- account for how technical and material choices affect the production's material consumption, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
- describe the manufacture of the electric vehicle's drive system.
- demostrate an understanding of how recycling capacity is affected by design and production solutions.
Competence and skills
- estimate negative impacts in the form of, for example, greenhouse gases, water consumption and soil consumption in the production of components for electrical vehicles.
- calculate greenhouse gases and water consumption in the production of new components from recycled materials.
- synthesize electric vehicle life cycle assessment.
- critically review information regarding recycling of components.
- critically review information regarding mining and production of materials for vehicle components.
- demonstrate the ability to orally and in writing clearly account for the powertrain's life cycle analysis.
Judgement and approach
- demonstrate judgement to critically review life cycle analysis.
- demonstrate an approach to critically examining sources and references.
- demonstrate judgement and approach to ethical choices for design and production of electric vehicles.
