The doctoral student should, after completing the course, be able to:
Knowledge and Understanding
Describe the fundamental characteristics and features of different scientific traditions, as well as their relationships to research perspectives and methodological choices.
Describe the central issues and positions within research ethics and philosophy of science.
Skills and Abilities
Apply knowledge of different scientific traditions to design research strategies that are adapted to specific research questions related either to work-integrated learning or production technology.
Search for information in bibliographic databases, formulate search strategies, justify these strategies, and critically evaluate the obtained information as well as the search process itself.
Judgement and Approach
Reflect on and argue about ethical issues related to research.
Reflect on and discuss scientific integrity in relation to research.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Seminar with individual oral presentation. Submission of a self-authored written essay.
