After completing the course, the student should be able to:
Knowledge and understanding
- explain how simulation techniques can be used for analysis, evaluation, and design of robotic systems.
Competence and skills
- apply modeling, simulation, and offline programming of industrial robots using a commercial tool for robot simulation.
- independently perform offline programming to test and verify robot code.
Judgement and approach
- analyze and assess the use of robot simulation and its impact on a robotic process.
Entry requirements
Minimum 120 HE credits from a bachelor program including 90 HE credits in electrical, computer science or mechanical engineering or similar fields and RBK600 Robot certificate, 1,5 HE credits
The forms of assessment of student performance
Individual laboratory work with oral presentation. Individual practical examination. Individual project with individual written and oral presentation.
Course contents
The course provides an understanding of how simulation techniques can be used to analyze, evaluate, and design robotic systems. By applying modeling, simulation, and offline programming in a commercial tool for robot simulation, the course develops skills in independently performing offline programming to test and verify robot code. The course also provides an understanding of how simulation can be used to improve productivity and safety in industrial applications.
