After course completion, the student must be able to:

- critically discuss problem formulations and scenarios within the field of computer engineering
- perform simple simulations related to computer engineering
Judgement and approach:
- make judgements in the light of relevant scientific, social, and ethical aspects
Entry requirements
Completed course requirements of 60 credits in Computer Engineering.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Oral presentations in group. Individual, oral examination in groups at seminars. Individual project with written submission.
Course contents
The course gives a scientific orientation about selected field within computer engineering. In seminars we read, discuss, and evaluate published scientific articles. At the same time, you carry out a simulation project and report your results in a form similar to a scientific article.
The following subjects are, among others, treated: network technology, computer engineering, security, distributed systems, test and evaluation methodology, simulation methodology, and scientific methodology.
