Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the doctoral/licentiate must be able to independently:
Knowledge and Understanding
- describe and develop a scientific work in work-integrated learning throughout its progression, from concept sketch to finished article or part of a monograph.
- independently defend their own scientific text and review fellow students' text in the subject area of work-integrated learning
Skills and abilities
- produce their own texts and provide a critique of others’ scientific projects with an emphasis on methodological approaches and the theoretical positioning of the text.
- apply scientific independence, creativity and scientific accuracy when examining one's own and others' texts.
Judgment and approach
- identify and contribute to a good academic seminar culture
- identify, assess, and evaluate scholarly work based upon work-integrated learning as a field of research.
Entry requirements
The student must be admitted to a third-cycle programme in work-integrated learning or the equivalent.
The forms of assessment of student performance
The course is examined through presentation of own text, opponentship and respondentship of fellow students' scientific texts through compulsory elements in the form of seminars.
Course contents
Through the course the student will have the opportunity to develop his/her scientific writing and develop his/her peer review skills through reading of fellow students' scientific texts. Emphasis is placed on developing a good seminar culture in which students are able to understand and evaluate scientific knowledge in a constructive way. The course also provides the opportunity for a methodological and theoretical breadth, as work-integrated learning as a research field spans many disciplinary fields where different methodological approaches are applied.

One of the independently composed texts, as well as one of the texts that the student discusses, should have a connection to one of the three mandatory work-in-progress seminars.
