- Account for and explain philosophical perspectives regarding technology, culture, and human use of technology

- Problematize the use of technology and its role in human understanding, based on power, truth, politics, and communication

- Reflect on the essence of technology and its relationship to the human life-world and historicity

The course is examined individually through seminars and written assignments.
Course contents
The course covers areas, traditions, concepts, perspectives, and applications within the philosophy of technology that are relevant for developing a critical understanding of the link between technology, the individual, society, and the life-world. The course content thus addresses both analytical, phenomenological, and critical philosophy of technology, as well as central technology philosophers/philosophies, philosophical problems and concepts related to the essence of technology, and philosophical perspectives on technical knowledge and technical concepts. Critical evaluations and ethical perspectives on technology in use and media will also form part of the course content.
