After completing the course, the student should be able to:
Knowledge and understanding
- show knowledge of Multi-Agent Systems including fundamental concepts, theories, and industrial applications.
- explain the difference between distributed and centralized systems.
Competence and skills
- show ability to implement control based on Multi-Agent Technology for automation.
Judgement and approach
- reflect on a performed automation project in relation to relevant research within automation.
- reflect on ethical aspects within modern automation applications.
Entry requirements
General entry requirements and approved result from the following course/courses:
IAI600-Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and
ATM700-Automation Systems or the equivalent.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Laborations in groups with oral presentations. Individual project with written report including oral presentation.
Course contents
The course covers Multi-Agent Systems for industrial automation, already developed systems, existing general frameworks for Multi-Agent System (MAS) and frameworks for Configurable Multi-Agent Systems for automation, to design and deploy a Multi-Agent System to a simulation or real automation system, and relate to the course literature and existing research.
