Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- explain the relationships between corporate strategy and production strategy.
- explain different supply chains, production chains, strategies between supplier and customer, and strategies for growth.
- describe the meaning of differentiation versus cost advantages, technology/process and plant strategy, strategic purchasing and supplier contracts, strategies for customer management, and capacity building.
- demonstrate the ability to critically and systematically integrate knowledge within business strategy to formulate a production strategy in an industrial perspective even with limited information.
- demonstrate the ability to critically, independently, and creatively make assessments for a qualified strategy analysis work.
Entry requirements
General entry requirements and approved result from the following course/courses:
LOV600-Operations and Supply Chain Management or the equivalent.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Groupwise written report. Individual oral presentation.
Course contents
The course is based on operations and supply chain management and builds further to shed light on collaboration between production systems and organizations' strategy design. The course deals with themes such as corporate strategy, business strategy and supply chain in collaboration from a competitiv perspective.
