Knowledge and understanding
After completing the course, the student should be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of:
- electrical drivelines.
- the subsystems of the electrical driveline.
Competence and skills
After completing the course, the student should be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- from a system perspective, perform in-depth dimensioning calculations on components in an electric driveline.
- analyze the impact of different components on the electric driveline.
- orally and in writing explain and discuss their conclusions, their knowledge and underlying arguments in dialogue with different groups
Judgement and approach
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- make assessments and show awareness based on ethical and sustainable aspects of research and development work in the field of electric drivelines.
- show insight into the possibilities and limitations of science, its role in society and people's responsibility for how it is used.
Entry requirements
Bachelor's degree with a major in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. The first-cycle program shall include at least 3 credits in programming and 15 credits in mathematics. English 6.
You also need approved result from the following course/courses: MEM500-Modeling of Electric Machines, EDF500-Electrical Design of Traction Battery, ELD500-Power Electronics and Electric Drive Systems, ELS600-Electrical Solutions of Auxiliary Systems in Vehicles, HDP600-Sustainability - Design and Production of Electric Vehicles and SFE600-Control System for Electric Vehicles, or the equivalent.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Laboratory work in group with written assignment and individual oral examination.
Course contents
The course focuses on conveying a holistic perspective regarding electric drivelines, where the students gain an in-depth knowledge of how different systems and components affect the electrical driveline. Further, the course focuses on in-depth knowledge of dimensioning calculations.
