Entry requirements
General entry requirements and approved result from the following course/courses:
ELK201-Electronics or
ELK202-Electronics, fundamental or the equivalent.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Individual assignment with oral presentation. Laboratory work in groups with written individual laboratory planning.
Course contents
The course aims to provide insight into how industrial control systems are used and programmed an automatic machine. In the course PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is used and the industrial programming standard IEC61131-3 is followed. In the course, you will also learn the basic logical control and logical expressions and how these are used to control machines. We create programs that are loaded into a PLC and tested against physical machines in the laboratory. The lab experiments are developed to learn the above-mentioned objectives.
