Learning outcomes
The student, after completing the course should have achieved the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge and understanding:
- demonstrate knowledge of the structure and function of distributed directory services such as Active Directory.
- explain and describe the methods and techniques used when designing and optimizing server systems for high availability, distribution and performance.
- have knowledge of the research front within the server infrastructure and data center areas.
Skills and abilities
- be able to install server- and network-systems as well as associated administration tools be able to upgrade and perform advanced configuration of directory services, DNS and storage systems be able to automate routine tasks using PowerShell be able to configure, manage, and troubleshoot replication, redundancy, and dynamic access control of server services.
Values and attitudes:
- demonstrate an understanding that documentation is an important part in the administration of the server and network systems.
Entry requirements
General entry requirements and approved result from the following course/courses:
GNA100-Fundamentals of Network and Internet Technology and
PDA115-Personal Computer Technology and Maintenance and
INT202-Internet Infrastructure Applications or the equivalent.
The forms of assessment of student performance
Project work in groups with oral and written examination. Individual oral examination in groupform at seminars. Timetable for all criteria in the ordinary examination as well as re-examination is determined in writing by the examiner and communicated to students through the KursPM.
